Glory to Jesus!  I just clicked into our NJM Facebook page and saw a word posted by one of us, Dennise Herzig.  I was so honored by her trust, and so humbled, so blessed by her passion for Jesus, her passion for souls.  

I know her words are posted on our Facebook Page, and I know they are posted as a comment to my last blog entry.  But just so they get every possible chance of being read by everyone who checks into whatever, I’m prioritizing and posting them here as well.

My precious brothers and sisters, there is one, simple, most important thing that we ALL must get past ourselves, our fears, busyness, pre-occupations… and feel DEEPLY within us.  To receive the gift of precious salvation and not turn around and allow this one reality to reach the deep of our hearts, deep beneath our own concerns and needs (not to minimize any of them) would be just plain heartbreaking…

PEOPLE NEED THE LORD.  It is as breathtakingly true a statement as has ever been spoken.  Each one of us so desperately needed him before we came to him - how many times have both you and I thought, “I can’t imagine life without him.”  

Yet all of us walk by millions every day who do live without him.  How can we walk by them without hearing their heart cry, without their lostness and brokenness deeply piercing our hearts?  How can we so freely accept such a glorious gift, but not be moved to push past ourselves and extend the same to others?  Oh glory to Jesus!

I would implore you to open your heart and allow Dennise’s words below to flood over every corner of it.  And why?  Because they are true beyond true.  Because they express the heart of Jesus.  Because not one of us who are working hard on this end to save souls, whether it be us trying to accomplish JESUS NGL or anyone who is going for it in outreach ministry… can take even one step without you.

I tell you, I have sat with African leaders in their cardboard shacks and seen their tears because they don’t have the resources to reach people like they know they can if properly equipped.  I have cried tears alongside them.  Again, nothing of God’s kingdom gets accomplished without… you.

In all humility, please read Dennise’s words below.  Open your heart to the word of the Lord that is surely within them.  Then don’t give in to distraction or busyness or even, possibly, the fear that causes a person to knee-jerk (the knee-jerk that never comes when we stop in at Starbuck’s or Mcd’s and spend so much more).

In all humility, let us open our hearts… and look to Jesus.  Here comes Dennise!

But may I say this with the softest of voices? …..(but with the most pleading and urgency– thousands and more of people are dieing each day.And if not physically–than inside…they are dieing inside)–again with the softest of voices….Friend — what–are–you–doing? What– will–you–do? Come on lets do this–Its time now….Lets give them Jesus.”
